"Blood: The Last Vampire"
Interesantísima producción nipona, de la que directores han dicho cosas como: "Acaba de abrirse una nueva era para el cine digital. El mundo entero reconocerá que esta obra es de la máxima calidad en lo que respecta a animación digital" (James Cameron), o "Ha sido bellísimo. Es como si se pusiera en movimiento una pintura de Francis Bacon" (Andy Wachowsky).
Y es que esta película parece ser una auténtica maravilla, sobre todo (y según lo que se comenta) los fondos y movimientos, realizados enteramente por ordenador. Además, el argumento tampoco tiene desperdicio: Año 1966, base americana de Yakota, Japón. La guerra de vietnam está a punto de comenzar... En este contexto, una organización detecta unos vampiros infiltrados en la base. Esta organización envía a Saya, una extermina-vampiros, para acabar con ellos. Así, Saya se infiltra en la base entre unos estudiantes americanos, intentando descubrir quién o quiénes son los vampiros para acabar con ellos.
Otro hecho curioso de la película es que el 80% de los diálogos están en inglés, siendo el japonés el 30% restante. También se destaca el doblaje de Yûki Kudô, prestigiosa actriz japonesa (que comienza a abrirse paso en la industria hollywoodiense). Además, está nominada junto a películas como "Shrek", "El Emperador...", y "Osmosis Jones" como mejor película de animación en los premios Annie.
Y... ¿Quién es su director? Pues ni más ni menos que Mamoru Oshii, uno de los directores más prestigiosos de "anime", y creador de la fantástica obra maestra de ciencia ficción "Ghost In The Shell"... ¿Llegará a la altura de este genial título? Por lo visto parece que sí, la calidad es algo habitual en Oshii.
Después de escuchar todas estas maravillas... ¿Por qué no se ha podido ver aún en España? Bueno, se estrenó (en primicia para Europa) en la edición del año pasado del festival de Sitges, pero a partir de ahí no se sabe nada. Lo más probable es que lo estrenen directamente en DVD, dada la escasa cultura "anime" existente en nuestro país. Además, otro problema para las productoras es su duración... Solo 48 minutos. Se pensó en estrenarla con otro corto, pero parece que esta idea ha sido descartada.
Siguiendo la tradición de las penosas y tardías ediciones en VHS o DVD, supongo que aún tendremos que esperar largo y tendido. Esto es frustrante, ya que en EEUU lo tienen desde hace tiempo, así como en Francia. En fin... La marginación hacia nuestro estilo de ver cine continua. Perko
